Arin and Bob were married on a beautiful spring day by Lake Anna. I’ve had the privilege of knowing them for around 10 years. They both have been through some difficult things over the years and yet they’ve both clung to the Lord with a quiet perseverance. I was so blessed to get to document the beginning of a new joyous occasion in their life last Friday: their marriage to each other!
This sweet baby girl turned 1 a few weeks ago! I witnessed Hadassah’s birth into this world and now she is a beautiful, little girl. It’s so fun watching little ones grow up and I was blessed to take some 1 year milestone photos of her the other day.
For over a year now I’ve had my name on a list of photographers willing to photograph a military homecoming pro bono. I thought that when I put my name on that list I’d have a homecoming to photograph in just days. Well, I was way wrong. A year passed and I still hadn’t heard from any military wives but I kept hoping and praying someone would contact me soon.
A few years ago I took some family photos for the Harrell’s while we both were on vacations in the OBX! Well, the time has come for James to finish up high school and to spread his wings. We got together two Saturday’s ago and took James’ senior photos. The foliage at Hanover Wayside Park was perfect!
I have been waiting for this day for months now and, boy, was it beautiful! Chris and Ashlee have been together for over 7 years now and they finally tied the knot two weekends ago! They were married at the Historic Pole Green Church on a blustery Fall day. The sun shone brilliantly, Chris’ smile was the happiest I’ve ever seen it, and Ashlee was as stunning as ever. What a gift it was to capture their wedding through my camera and lenses!!
Most of my family photography shoots happen to be repeat customers. I absolutely love this. I feel like I’m the family historian, in a way, as I get to capture the changes in those families via time and new members!
I’ve known Samantha since she and I were little. :) Samantha’s mom would babysit my siblings and I when my parents needed to go somewhere or had a worship practice to attend. Samantha (and her older sister, Ashlee, whose wedding I’m photographing in less than 2 months!) would play with us until my parents got back home. Now Samantha is graduating!!
Little ones change so quickly! I was in the room when Hadassah was born and now she’s smiling like crazy, rolling over, and crawling! How does this happen?!
I’ve known Ashlee for as long as I can remember. Years ago we went to the same church. Ashlee’s mom would come over (with Ashlee and her sister, Sam) and babysit us wee Wasses when my parents needed some “alone time”. :) Ashlee always made everything fun and was so incredibly sweet! I went to Sunday School class with Chris’ brother and so I knew Chris just from sightings in and around church. Chris and Ashlee started dating while together in youth group at HEFC (our church at the time) and, 7 years later, they’re engaged and tying the knot in October!!!
Sweet, little Hadasash Rae Jackson was born in my family’s house in the very room I sleep in! Now some of you may be weirded out by that but I see it more as a privilege…a new life was brought into this world in the very place I call “home”. How neat is that?! (Granted we don’t open our home for random strangers to come and have their babies…this was for our friends, the Jacksons, whom we love and have known for a few years now. :)
