I loved being the wedding photographer for my cousin, Amanda, and her *now husband!!!* Doug on Jan. 17th. While I enjoy all of the wedding days I’ve been the photographer for it was super special to be my cousin’s wedding photographer!
I was there when ‘Manda was getting ready and couldn’t hold back the tears so her bridesmiads and soon-to-be mother-in-law gathered around her and covered her in prayer. I was there for the daddy-daughter “first look” when Uncle Greg choked up at the sight of his gorgeous, baby girl. I was there when Doug and Amanda’s smiles were uncontainable as they held hands during a pre-ceremony prayer. I was there to see Doug tearing up as he watched his bride advancing towards him in the ceremony. And I watched as Doug and Amanda held each other close and loved each other with a beautiful, sweet passion as they danced the night away.
Not only did I watch all of this but I had the honor of capturing those memories to be remembered years down the road. I haven’t known Doug very well but I know that he and Amanda have both gone through a lot. ‘Manda’s own mother was called to heaven a few years ago. Yet, through all of Doug and Amanda’s hardships, they have clung to the Lord and the day of their union was based on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. I still can’t quite believe they entrusted me to capture their day and I can never thank them enough!
Enjoy their photos! (And there are many!!)
King Louis, Amanda and Doug’s hedgehog, got to make an appearance!!
